888 Partners Up With NFL's NY Jets

To simply say that NFL is a big deal in the U.S. would be the understatement of the millennia. National Football League is arguably the most popular of all professional sports outlets in the nation, which is proved by countless reports of NFL wagers contributing to total sports betting revenue with a lion’s share in multiple states.

Such was the case in Nevada and Delaware, but ever since the announcement that Oakland Raiders are relocating to Las Vegas, the future new venue of this franchise could even become the first-ever stadium haven for gambling…

A Love Affair With Gaming Industry

It’s safe to say that NFL’s relationship with betting and gambling industry leaders including corporate leviathans is at a blossoming phase…

…and with the revelation of a new deal between 888 and New York Jets, it has been elevated to the next level.

The partnership agreement between the two brands was confirmed this Tuesday, making 888 the first major operator to snatch a deal with one of the NFL teams.

MetLife Stadium, where Jets play their home games, has already been branded with 888 logos for some time now. The branding “will be seen during all Jets games, including the red-zone highlights, shown on the stadium’s videoboards”.

888 will be, in turn, using NY Jets branding with their own marketing material across digital media and radio coverage.

A Significant Momentum

888’s head of group commercial development, Yaniv Sherman, looks forward to the prospect of strengthening the brand in the U.S. with this deal. He said that the deal between New York Jets and 888.com is a “significant moment for both 888 and our industry”, due to it marking the first sponsorship agreement between a global online operator and an NFL team in history. He added:

“888 has a unique position across the three regulated states for full online gaming… This will the successful delivery of our growth strategy to be a leading operator in the developing and potentially significant US online gaming market.”

Natural Progression

This is the most significant moment for 888 since the beginning of their New Jersey sports betting operations in September, when the company, in a collaboration with Caesars, launched a sportsbook in this state, whose gaming revenue has risen dramatically since

Several similar deals have been struck lately between the professional leagues and betting giants, the most notable of which was a deal between MGM, NBA and NHL respectively.

The American Gaming Association has recently revealed that annual sports betting income could contribute to another $2.3 billion in NFL’s safe deposit.
