Colorado Launches Online and Mobile Sports Betting

On Friday, May 1st, legalized online and mobile sports betting became a reality in Colorado, as several operators launched their services within this vertical and numerous others were approved licenses at Limited Gaming Control Commission meeting the day before.

Sasquatch Casino was given the master sports betting license and a distributor license for slot machines. Black Haw property, The Wild Card Saloon, also secured one.

Temporary online sports betting license was given to Sportsrealmoneyaction.betsandodds.net and Racerealmoneyaction.betsandodds.net which are operated by Carousel Group.

The End of the Process

Colorado made sports betting legal in November 2019…

…after the statewide referendum made this possible. In May of the same year, state legislature ed the necessary regulations.

DraftKings, that has partnered with Twin River’s Golden Mardi Gras Casino, rolled out a website and a mobile app for sports betting.

FanDuel, partnered with Golden Gates Casino which is another Twin River venue, launched the website.

MGM Resort’s and GVC Holding’s t venture, Roar Digital, has unveiled the betMGM branded website.

Rush Street Interactive has premiered the BetRivers website, powered by Kambi, in partnership with Triple Crown’s J.P. McGill’s Hotel and casino.

The Ease and Convenience

The sporting calendar is significantly reduced, due to the current global health crisis, but it will – for the time being – offer Korean baseball, Ukrainian table tennis, Russian ice hockey, English darts and Taiwanese basketball.

When all other sports return in full capacity worldwide, Rush Street will also begin offering the wagering on eSports such as League of Legends, Counter Strike and eNascar.

Says Richard Schwartz, Rush Street Interactive president:

“We are thrilled to debut our BetRivers.com brand in Colorado and offer sports bettors our unique and compelling player experience that our customers in other states already enjoy.”

He added that sports bettors in Colorado will appreciate the ease and convenience of placing wagers online and said that he is eager for Colorado players to try out the web and mobile site.

Charles Gillespie, chief executive of Gambling.com group that also won one of vendor minor licenses, remarked:

“As more states move to legalize sports betting, we will be there in each state to ensure bettors are aware of the differences between locally regulated and offshore options.

Whether you’re a Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche or Nuggets fan, our team of journalists, analysts and handicappers will give Colorado sports fans the best chance to beat the sportsbooks in what will surely be one of the most exciting sports betting markets in America.”
