Caesars Entertainment Debuts First Property in Nebraska, Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino

Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino, the first venture of Caesars Entertainment into the Cornhusker State, officially welcomed guests today. The grand opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, various giveaways, and celebrations involving the local community, Columbus Exposition and Racing, and Caesars officials.

Opening day festivities included distributing commemorative Harrah’s shirts to guests who then enjoyed the property’s first slot spins, table game wagers, and sports bets at the Caesars Race & Sportsbook. Notably, the first jackpot hit occurred at 10:14 a.m., when a lucky visitor won $1,876 on Power Push.

A New Hub for Gaming, Betting on Sports and Races

The new Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino spans 17,000 square feet, featuring 400 slot machines, 11 table games, and the Caesars Race & Sportsbook. This sports and simulcast betting area is strategically located on the casino floor, providing 2,100 square feet of space and equipped with 17 viewing screens, including a massive 163-inch video wall for the ultimate sports viewing experience. This opening marks the debut of Caesars Sportsbook accepting sports wagers in Nebraska.

In addition to gaming, the casino boasts the award-winning Brew Brothers restaurant, established by the Carano family in 1995, and a bar named Wishbones. Adjacent to the casino, a Marriott Fairfield Inn and Townplace Suites are under construction and will connect directly to the casino once completed later this year.

In partnership with Columbus Exposition and Racing, Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino will feature a one-mile racetrack, the longest in Nebraska. The racetrack will host 15 live races every Friday through Sunday from August 16 to September 15, along with a special race on Labor Day. Each race date will offer all-ages Grandstand seating and in-person and kiosk betting for those aged 21 and over.
