After something of a struggling month of February, sports wagering in Delaware seems to be back on track in of monthly revenue generated. This regulated sector managed to rake in $1.6 million during the month of March, which is a massive increase from February’s underwhelming $22,152.
The state’s regulated sports betting market has reported the strongest month so far in 2019…
…and the highest monthly total since December’s $2.1 million in profits, posted by Delaware Lottery.
Following a disappointing February during which a disastrously low profit of a little over $22K was posted…
…the March result is more in line with late last year’s fine performance, given that January – albeit better than the month that followed – was so-so in of income which stood at $279,541.
Delaware punters wagered $16.1 million on sports, which is a smaller handle than February’s ($16.4 million) – however, the win was smaller for consumers in March ($13.6 million), creating the said $1.6M revenue.
In of individual venues’ success…
…things pretty much stand where they were last time around, with Delaware Park keeping its rightful place as a market leader. This facility took $6.6 million in bets and made a revenue of $1.04 million.
Inn second place, Dover Downs generated $328,150 in profits made of a $2.1 million handle. Harrington Raceway is third-placed with $279,450 revenue made from $1.8 million in bets.
Looking at it from a calendar year perspective, the overall sports betting outcome from June last year when the Delaware market opened until the end of March, brought in $3.1 million in profits from a total handle of $30.9 million.
According to figures revealed by the state operator, the online gaming segment also fared positively. During March, $14.6 million was bet in online gaming, which is a significant betterment from February’s $9 million. Consumers won $14.4 million…
…which made a $288,740 profit for Delaware – up from February’s $274,690, looking at it month-on-month.
Much like sports betting vertical, iGaming’s structure yielded the very same order in which casinos fared: Delaware Park was ranked first in online gaming revenue, having won $138,430 from $8.4 million in bets. Dover Downs won $78,950 from $5 million in bets while Harrington Raceway made it third with $71,360.
On a yearly level, until the end of March, licensees in this state posted a combined online gaming revenue of $842,980. Casino goers have placed $31.1 million in bets and won $30.2 million.

Good, I was quite sure it was all going downhill when I saw those terrible February news.
