DraftKings, a U.S.-based digital sports entertainment, and gaming company announces a successful launch of its mobile app which will give fans the chance to place bets on all major U.S. sports. The introduction follows the opening of three Wild Rose sportsbooks across the state, all powered by this operator.
Getting the opportunity to transition seamlessly between their mobile sportsbook and fantasy apps, bettors will be able to place their bets in two ways- by using the DraftKings Sportsbook app via iOS and Android or online at Sportsbook.DraftKings.com.
Says Matt Kalish, President, DraftKings North America, and co-founder:
“DraftKings has seen steady fan engagement in Iowa during the last few months at our three Wild Rose sportsbooks across the state, and we couldn’t be more excited to provide customers with our state-of-the-art mobile sports-betting platform.”
This launch comes shortly after the successful agreement with Twin River, which granted Colorado players an opportunity to place wagers via the retail betting system at Mardi Gras Casino in Black Hawk.
Thanks to this new, easily accessible means of entertainment, punters get the chance to place wagers on an extensive list of activities. The list includes professional and college football, baseball, professional and college basketball, hockey, golf, auto racing and much more.
Kalish added:
“We have worked diligently to perfect our sportsbook product since it launched in 2018, and starting today, we’re proud to offer Iowans a safe and responsible place to wager on sports – one that can be accessed conveniently from the palm of their hands.”
According to the law…
…to be able to utilize the app, bettors from Iowa are required to complete mobile and online sports betting registration in-person at any of the Wild Rose-DraftKings sportsbooks. The facilities are located in Clinton, Emmetsburg, and Jefferson, and when the process is finalized, punters can use the app online site from anywhere in the state.
However, after January 1, 2021, customers will no longer be required to in-person.
The top-rated platform is equipped with a wide range of traditional markets on major U.S. and international sports, as well as a generous spectrum of odds boosts and promotions yearly. Moreover, for a limited time, new customers can receive a bonus of up to $1,000.
Tom Timmons, president, and COO of Wild Rose commented:
“We believe DraftKings is offering the best mobile app yet to Iowa sports betting enthusiasts. Since we opened the sportsbooks, we have been deluged with requests for this app. We are happy to offer it now, with the NCAA basketball tournament just around the corner.”
An important distinction in the Hawkeye State is…
…that sportsbooks are not allowed to accept player proposition wagers involving a university or college in Iowa. This regulation also extends to the opponents in games with Iowa schools, whereas pre-match and in-game wagering on Iowa schools and their opponents is not prohibited.

I think they are officially creating the history of sports betting expansion across the US.
