Providing unselfish to educating players, and promoting reasonable behavior, GVC Holdings PLC has donated its football sponsorship assets to GambleAware and their “Bet Regret” campaign. The purpose of the donation is to encourage football fans to moderate their betting habits.
This means that the Ladbrokes logo which was previously featured on many of the assets for all clubs of Scottish Professional Football League will now be replaced by the Bet Regret campaign logo. This includes 42 clubs who are partnered up with GVC. All of them will give away their sponsorship assets to GambleAware.
The aim of the valuable Bet Regret campaign…
… is to promote moderate behavior of young male bettors. This particularly refers to those critical situations, such as betting while bored or drunk. This also includes chasing losses.
Commenting on the GVC’s donation, Marc Etches, CEO of GambleAware said as follows:
“We are delighted that GVC Holdings has made this move to the Bet Regret campaign. With the number of opportunities to bet and exposure to messages associated with gambling being so prevalent in football, it’s incredibly important that football fans think twice about betting when drunk, bored or chasing losses.”
The Isle of Men-based company…
…already runs a campaign which has a goal to promote safer gambling. Bearing a name “Changing for the Bettor,” it hosts a set of suggestions and initiatives which should enhance players’ protection.
Pointing out the importance of safety, Patrick Kerr, Director of Safer Gambling at GVC Holdings declared as follows:
“Whilst we want football fans to be able to enjoy a bet, we recognize the importance of doing this in a safe, responsible way. Handing over this valuable inventory to GambleAware is a demonstration that we are committed to helping our customers bet safely and responsibly, and we look forward to continuing to promote the Bet Regret campaign in the future to help increase awareness about safer gambling.”
Being a dedicated institution which effortlessly fights for safer gaming environment…
… GambleAware invested a generous amount of £3.9m in May this year. The funds will be used to the expansion of the National Gambling Treatment Service via GamCare and its partners.
The beginning of the year brought significant investment to Harvard’s Responsible Gambling Study…
…where GVC donated $5m. The research project will focus predominantly on analyzing the effect of gambling on people as well as their gambling behavior. In addition to this, the study will also investigate the effects of a gambling expansion in new markets.
