Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack officially announced on their company website…
…that they will finally unveil a new sportsbook, called simply, The Book, to the public.
This famous harness racing track and casino situated on the waterfront of Chester, Pennsylvania, will debut the new book on January 22nd, especially for sports betting Tuesday.
Harrah’s Philadelphia has already issued a petition back in October and requested the approval for sports wagering. Now, the venue will have to go through a mandatory two-day testing period…
…which will be executed by The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
And, if all goes well and The Book complies with their rules, the grand opening will be held on Thursday.
“Our staff will be there during these periods of time to make sure the systems are operating correctly, to make sure the (Harrah’s) staff is prepared to handle the customers, that all issues that deal with handling problem gambling are being properly addressed,” said PGCB spokesman, Doug Harbach.
“We’re also then looking at the end of the gaming day counting of the receipts. They’ll go through the two days of the period and we’ll look at that, and it that goes well for the two days, we’ll sign off on them for their regular hours, which would be the following day, Thursday,” Harbach concluded.
As announced, this sportsbook experience will be life-changing for all the wagering fans out there.
Gamblers will have the opportunity to bet on pro or college football and basketball, on baseball, hockey, soccer, golf and more. In order to place their bets, waggers have to be 21 or older.
The Book will be equipped with 19 lounge seats, 11 high-top tables, bar seating…
…and over 45 large screen TVs where the wagers can enjoy the live action.
“We are excited to bring sports betting to Delaware County and allow our guests from the tri-state area to experience our property in a whole new way,” said Harrah’s Philadelphia Senior Vice President and General Manager, Chris Albrecht, in an official statement.
“With our gaming offering, live harness racing, our event center, award-winning restaurants and now the sportsbook, Harrah’s Philadelphia remains a must visit destination in the Philadelphia region,” he added.
The company also announced that the first 1000 waggers will get a special gift – a unique t-shirt. of Harrah’s Total Rewards program will have the opportunity to participate and earn points through sports betting.
The 4,322 square foot area will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced that this US state had a great closure to a year of legal sports betting. In December, a total revenue made from this type of gambling…
…came up to a total of $2 million. The numbers are clearly showing the immense potential of sports betting and how lucrative of a market it is.
