Mississippi Could Get Another Casino Venue; Biloxi Location Considered

Mississippi is close to a new casino project. According to the words of the developer, Biloxi Tivoli Hotel is a great location for the future venue. This assertion has been given by property holders and the hotel has already filed a notice of intent. If everything goes well, Mississippi will get an exclusive casino venue extending over 30-acre of space.

Background of the Idea

Biloxi Capital bought the land more than a decade ago, but it didn’t manage to realize similar projects. The land is placed close to Biloxi Yacht Club which is traditionally a good site for gambling with optimistic chances for official approval.

Biloxi issued the notice:

“The Applicant anticipates that the establishment will contain approximately 100,000 square feet of gaming space and approximately 2,000 slot machines and 75 table games. The project will include approximately 1,300 hotel rooms, 100,000 square feet of convention space and other amenities as approved by the Mississippi Gaming Commission.”

Behind the Project

Real estate developer, Danny Conwill, follows the intentions of Biloxi Capital. According to his words, the new casino will cost about $600 million in case of approval. Further on, the project will stretch over 100,000 square feet of space while including 2,000 slots and 75 gaming tables. Additionally, visitors will have an opportunity to relish comfortable accommodation in one of 1300 hotel rooms or to attend official events in the hotel’s convention center. The venue waits for approval of the Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC).

Mississippi Biloxi casino has already received positive words. Commenting on the casino location, Biloxi Mayor Andrew Gilich observed:

“The site is in the very heart of the East Biloxi waterfront area where the city has focused its development efforts. The project as proposed will complement many of the initiatives on which we have been working.”

Councilman, Felix Gines, is of the same opinion. He mentioned:

“A development of this nature in East Biloxi will only help stimulate other much needed developments such as housing and retail growth. There isn’t a better location in Biloxi to help stimulate and kick start growth in the area.”

Biloxi Capital should make the next step which includes an official application for MGC approval. Mississippi Gaming Commission is expecting the application of the property. If everything turns positive for the Biloxi, the operator could get authorization during the next month.
