Continent 8 Technologies Expands US Presence with Nevada Gaming Control Board Approvals

Very surprisingly, sports betting during Super Bowl Sunday this year was a complete fail when it comes to the number of wagers placed on the game.
Although this was the first Super Bowl where betting was allowed outside of Nevada as well, the sports betting handle amount was disappointingly low.
Even more of a surprise is the fact that Nevada, that set a sports wagering record in 2018, reported that its total betting handle…
…was $12.6 million below last year’s!
The state’s casino operators reported just under $146 million during the NFL’s championship game. Good news is that the net win this year was somewhere around $10.8 million, which is an amazing improvement comparing to the last year’s $1.1 million.
In New Jersey, everyone expected that the state’s sportsbook handle would hit the roof, because of the excellent results the country has made in the past few months of legal sports betting.
But, NJ’s Division of Gaming Enforcement reported that the country’s handle during the game hit just under $35 million in Super Bowl wagers…
…which is four times less than Nevada’s.
New Jersey’s sportsbooks lost a staggering $4.6 million on this NFL game.
DraftKings (who recently signed a live deal with Evolution Gaming) and FanDuel, two of biggest online betting operators in the US…
…reported a staggering seven-figure loss for the day!
Boston-based daily fantasy sports contest provider, DraftKings, marked down a $1 million loss, while New York-based bookmaker, FanDuel, recorded an even larger seven-figure loss in just one day.
DrafKings handled around 300.000 wagers via mobile during Super Bowl, while FanDuel handled 50.000 more.
On the other hand, William Hill’s CEO, Joe Asher, told the press that the company’s New Jersey sportsbooks had the best day since the launch of legal sports betting in May 2018…
…when it comes to the numbers regarding betting handle. He also said that there was a record number of new s via mobile phones.
The situation in other parts of the country wasn’t that great either. In the state of Mississippi, casino operators reported that they handled just around $4.67 million during the Super Bowl.
Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Rhode Island, Delaware, and New Mexico are yet to reveal their numbers. There will probably be many more countries ing the sports betting club in the next twelve months…
…so we’ll see who will try to sur Nevada’s handle next year.
One wager in Nevada’s South Point Casino sportsbook was lucky enough to turn a $250 wager into a $100k. We are still waiting to hear some more lucky sports bettors’ stories.

Man, this is a total bust. But, no wonder the numbers are disappointing when the game was so boring.
