…so in the future wagers from other states might also be able to place their bets in Nevada.

Out-Of-State Sports Betting

Currently, it is not legal to place your sports bets in the state that is not your place of residence…

…but Nevada’s Gaming Commission accepted the amendment that talked about making alterations to the ongoing wagering laws.

Social Security Numbers

There has also been a change in the law when it comes to the required social security numbers. Casino customers are requested to provide social security numbers for tax purposes…

…in case they win more than $1200 during their visit. Now, casinos will be able to accept only the last four digits of the social security number instead of the entire number.

Still No Online Bets

As stated in Las Vegas Review-Journal, the commission, however, still won’t accept the proposal to allow the wagers to make their sports betting s online. If they wish to gamble on sports events, they have to visit land-based casinos to and then to play online.

William Hill Expansion in Nevada

William Hill, world-famous UK gambling operator, and bookmaker that recently announced a 15% profit fall in 2018…

…acquired the license from the Nevada Gaming Control Board to operate in properties in Las Vegas and Laughlin, including sites in North Las Vegas, Reno and in the Stateline region, close to the border with California.

“2018 was a pivotal year for both William Hill and the wider industry. We now have greater clarity around the key challenges and opportunities for our business. In 2019 we will remodel our retail offer while building a digitally-led international business,” William Hill CEO, Philip Bowcock, explained.

Hill is cooperating with Golden Entertainment properties, which in Las Vegas include Stratosphere Casino, Arizona Charlie’s Boulder, Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and also the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin.

The Removal of the Ban

This bookmaker was the first company to offer their services in the newly launched legal sports-betting market in the US in 2018. Besides Nevada, Hill holds sports betting partnerships in the states of Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and West Virginia.

Mid-January, the company also signed a deal with Prairie Meadows in Iowa to provide their exclusive sportsbook operations to the venue.

“We are excited about the prospect of sports betting in Iowa and are thrilled to partner with Prairie Meadows to be ready for the day when sports betting is legal in the state,“ US chief executive officer, Joe Asher, said.

“We are building a first-class sportsbook that will make Prairie Meadows the place to bet and watch the games,” he concluded.
