The regulatory body for all gambling activities in the state of Pennsylvania, also known as the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB)…
…officially announced that it will be launching a special self-exclusion program.
This unique program is actually a self-help tool that all Pennsylvania citizens who would like to exclude themselves from participating in online gambling can use.
That includes the new internet-based gaming (iGaming) activities for sports wagering and casino-like games that are now also available.
It has been designed according to the existing model of the self-exclusion program being used in Pennsylvania casinos.
This existing program helped thousands of individuals ban themselves from gaming among state facilities…
…so the iGaming version will, in a similar way, help people choose how long they would like to be excluded.
The iGaming Self-Exclusion Program will allow the opportunity to be excluded for either one year, five years or a lifetime.
All individuals that would like to ban themselves for all online gambling activities would be able to do that online, through the regulator’s website.
All online gaming websites from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania must comply with the self-exclusion rules.
They have to refuse wagers and deny gaming privileges to all persons on the list and also refuse any player club hip, complimentary goods, and services, as well as other similar privileges.
All websites also have to make sure that all s on the list do not receive solicitations, targeted mailings, telemarketing promotions, player club materials or other promotional content relating to iGaming activities.
But, it is important to mention that the PGCB’s iGaming Self-Exclusion Program is separate from the existing casino Self-Exclusion Program.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is the official state regulator that has a job of overseeing all aspects of the state’s casino industry…
…which includes sports wagering that is currently available at eight different locations.
Other tasks of this regulator also include other new gaming initiatives that are actually expected to be launched in the next few months.
The casino industry in Pennsylvania currently consists of 10 stand-alone and racetrack casinos, together with the two smaller resort casinos.
These gambling venues employ over 16,000 people and annually generate approximately $1.4 billion in tax revenue from slot machine and table games play.
The largest part of that revenue is being used for property tax reduction to PA homeowners.
Gambling regulator of the state of Pennsylvania has officially reported that there was a 23.5% decline in sports betting revenue for the month of April.
Rush Street’s Rivers and SugarHouse casinos didn’t see such great results…
…so Parx Casino in Bensalem got the opportunity to get to the top in the state when it comes to a total revenue coming from sports betting.
