Wheel of Fortune and Powerbucks slots paid out more than $6.3 million in million-dollar jackpots during May, with six lucky winners across North America scoring life-changing payouts.
The month’s biggest win came on May 19, when a Wheel of Fortune Pink Diamond player hit a $2,914,518 jackpot at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Just a week later, on May 26, another jackpot of $2,198,173 was claimed by a player on the Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Triple Gold MegaTower at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Other May wins included a $1,215,041 payout at Ho-Chunk Gaming Nekoosa in Wisconsin on May 2 and a $1,033,590 jackpot on May 3 at Gila River Resorts & Casinos – Santan Mountain in Chandler, Arizona. Additionally, a Canadian player won CA$1,281,026 playing Powerbucks Wheel of Fortune Diamonds Deluxe Date Night online on May 17, and on May 23, a traveler at Michael Gaughan Airport Slots inside Las Vegas’s Harry Reid International Airport scored $1,816,406 on Wheel of Fortune Triple Red Hot 7s Gold Spin.
IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots – based on the iconic TV game show – have made a name for themselves with their massive payouts. Since debuting in 1996, they have created over 1,200 millionaires and paid out more than $3.6 billion in total jackpot prizes. Meanwhile, IGT’s Powerbucks, available in Canada since 2016, has produced 67 million-dollar-plus winners.
In April, IGT’s suite of Wheel of Fortune, Powerbucks, and Megabucks slots awarded over $17 million across just three jackpots, underscoring the brand’s long-standing appeal and winning legacy.
Earlier this month, IGT secured a decade-long licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Television, ensuring exclusive rights to the Wheel of Fortune brand across gaming, lottery, iGaming, and iLottery platforms. The new deal, effective from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2034, also grants IGT non-exclusive rights to distribute Wheel of Fortune content for social casinos.
Inspired by the television show watched by over 25 million viewers weekly and honored with seven Emmy Awards, Wheel of Fortune slots have become a staple in both physical and digital casinos.
IGT also recently launched the U.S.’s first omnichannel wide area progressive (WAP) jackpot, linking land-based and online Wheel of Fortune slots across New Jersey. This innovation allows players to contribute to and win from a unified jackpot pool, regardless of whether they are spinning the reels in a casino or on a mobile device—marking a milestone in cross-platform gaming experiences.
