A new business venture is upon William Hill’s US subsidiary, as the global betting leviathan inked another sports betting agreement that will see them venture, for the first time, in their history, onto the gambling market of New Mexico.
The said agreement was signed with their official partners in this US state – the Mescalero Apache Tribe. They are the sole owners and operators of Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino.
The said venue will witness the launch of William Hill-powered sportsbook…
…marking it the operator’s first partnership in this state as well as first tribal alliance outside of Nevada.
Frizzell Frizzel Jr, operating officer of the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino, remarked that their customers have, over the years, come to expect a high level of service and commitment as well as best casino offerings possible. The sportsbook, he says, will be no different.
“Together with William Hill, we will offer state-of-the-art betting technology, and innovative wagering opportunities including in-play options. We know this is something our customers have been looking forward to and we’re thrilled to be able to partner with the best in the business to bring it to them.”
The Mountain Gods Casino, which is located south of Albuquerque…
…will see the opening of William Hill sportsbook and the accompanying technology later in the summer. Company’s President of Retail, David Grolman, said:
“Inn of the Mountain Gods is one of the premier resorts and casinos in the southwest and together we plan to bring a first-class experience to sports fans in the region.”
New Mexico legislation is yet to officially the sports betting bill, however, a number of tribal casinos have already launched their sportsbook services under the state gaming compacts that allow them to do so.
The first to have gone live with this product are The Tamaya Nation at Santa Ana Casino belonging to Pueblo of Santa Ana tribe. They were launched in November last year. They were followed by Buffalo Thunder Casino and Resort owned by Pojoaque Pueblo tribe, which occurred in December 2018.
The third operator that owns their operating sportsbook is The Pueblo of Isleta – they are actually in progress of doing so in their Isleta Resort and Casino, and it should be completed in the course of a month.
William Hill could be on the cusp of a watershed following the recent agreed merger between Eldorado Resorts and Caesars Entertainment…
…in which the former purchased $17.3 billion worth of Caesars’ stakes to form a brand new US gambling market leader.
According to WH’s official statement, this event will radically expand the market access agreement with Eldorado (the two brands have signed the partnership in September 2018 by which WH got rights to operate sportsbooks in Eldorado managed properties). The deal covers “any subsequent acquisitions by Eldorado as well as the properties it owned of managed.”
“Therefore, the rights apply to casinos currently owned or managed by Caesars if Eldorado’s acquisition of Caesars is completed,” reads the statement.

William Hill’s sportsbooks are generally very good. I hope New Mexico will benefit for this in of revenue and taxes.
